ABOUT US
Established in 2001 Mohapi Dental has been providing Oral Healthcare to communities that have been historically marginalized. Although Primary Oral Healthcare is offered at no cost by Government, such facilities are often overburdened and under resourced. As a result not all patients receive the required treatment, when it is required.

Our focus as an institution has been on Primary Oral Health, but through our partnerships with different Dental Specialists, we have also been able to offer specialized care where needed.

Initially Mohapi Dental Diepsloot started off as an outreach program. A wrong turn one Saturday afternoon in 2007 opened my eyes to how a large section of our population was living. Two months later we treated our very first patient.

Within a very short space of time it became very clear that the allocated two days a week was not going to be enough to sufficiently address the Oral Health needs of this community. It was at this point that we realized we had to make a very difficult decision. A systematic shut down of operations in all other communities was undertaken and Diepsloot became our sole focus.

In the 11 years that we have been in the community we have treated over 32 000 patients, 2 000 of whom have had their treatment fully subsidized by Mohapi Dental. This accounts for over 5% of our total patient count and we are planning to increase it to 10% when we celebrate 13 years of servicing the community in 2020.

Over the years communities that have benefited from our services are; Tshiawelo Soweto, Rockville Soweto, Alexandra Township, Hillbrow, Johannesburg CBD, Randburg, Cosmo City and of course Diepsloot.
OUR SERVICES
Routine Exams
Even though if left untreated most oral conditions can be pretty devastating, most develop slowly over a reasonably long period of time. Routine exams (twice a year) will in most cases allow your Oral Health Team to identify and intervene before conditions complicate
Oral Hygiene

It is often said that a stitch in time saves nine and none a statement is more true when it comes to your Oral Health. By simply brushing twice a day and visiting your Oral Health Practitioner regularly most conditions can be prevented
